Gun Moor Appeal


(Click Picture for full article) The dates are now looming large for the various fundraising events in support of the Gun Moor appeal. All proceeds will go to the appeal to protect Gun Moor and its rich biodiversity for all of us for ever. Unless otherwise stated, all events will start from or be based at the Swythamley & Heaton Centre.

Historical Society talk; ‘Gun Moor; Past, Present & Future’ 7.30pm March 16th.
This talk will be given by local historian Alan Weeks and Jon Rowe, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust Warden for the Roaches, Gun Moor and other nature reserves in the Moorlands area.

Admission £3.00 at the door on the night.

Variety show 7.30pm March 28th.
A light hearted evening featuring a wide selection of local talent embracing instrumental, singing and humour. Tickets £7 adults, under 18s £5. Book & pay before the night.
Based on recent similar shows at Meerbrook it is expected that the show will be a sell-out so please book early.
Coach trip to Hebden Bridge April 16th. 
Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire has become a very popular visitor destination over recent years with a very wide array of attractions embracing history, natural history, culture, cuisine and recreation, specifically boating and walking. Only two hours drive away, the trip will offer plenty of time for people to pursue their personal interests.
Tickets £17 adults, under 18s £12. Depart Swythamley & Heaton Centre at 8.30am.
One pick-up point in Leek will be announced in due course. Trip sponsored by local company; Golden Green Travel.
Once the coach is full it’s full! Last bookings taken April 2nd.
